Well, I got grilled by my 'friends' today at lunch because I haven't updated my blog for so long. I knooooooow it's been way too long since I've posted. I'm sorry. But hey, I have a busy life!
Before I post some pictures (which I know is the only reason for a lot of you to look at my blog- Garret, Jeff, Breck, etc.), I just want to reflect on a realization that I came to this week. Living in Helaman Halls is sooo expensive! Why did I ever think it was a better idea to live here than Heritage or off-campus? $750 a month is 7.5 times the amount that I will be spending this Spring/Summer. That is CRAZY.
Which brings me to my next thought, and this one is exciting! Here it is:
Lauren and I got into Regency Apartments!!
It was actually a really hard and anxiety-filled thing to do. We had to go to the apartments on Saturday and put our names in a raffle with about 100 other girls, then wait as they called the names out one-by-one. I didn't think I would be as nervous as I actually was. But we got spots! And one of the best parts is that the room that we are in faces Tom's apartment. It's right across the street! Hopefully he'll stay there so that we can be really close. Wahoo!
Today was Stake Conference. I loved it! It was seriously one of the best that I have ever been to. All of the youth speakers were awesome and the adult speakers were great too. Plus I got to sit between Lauren and Austin, two of my favorite people! AND I got to sleep in until noon! Man, what a great afternoon.
Theeeeeen, tonight Tom and I went over to the Bishoff's home to have dinner and watch the SuperBowl. What a great time! And the best part was, I got to see my friend Tanner Bishoff! I haven't seen him for years. Turns out, he goes to school here too! And I didn't even know it. I wish I would have gotten a picture with him, but I totally forgot. In fact, I didn't get any pictures today, sorry :/
But here are all the pictures I took and fun things I did this week! :) (Get ready for an overload. I'll be better at blogging daily next week, I promise!)
Wednesday Jan 25

Breakfast with the boys (we didn't wake up early enough to go to Jamba Juice this week, sadly), visited Regency with Lauren, got dinner at Crown Burger (my parents were pretty jealous haha), went to a gymnastics competition in Salt Lake, then visited with my grandparents after. I sure love them!

We had Fast Sunday one week early because Stake Conference was a week later. That night I went to Tom and Ryan's place for dinner, where Tom and Adelay cooked us dinner because they lost the
sandcastle building contest. We had chicken and rice casserole- it was delicious! Then we watched Hook and called it a night.

Thursday Feb 2
I was supposed to go to the temple on Thursday morning, but I was too tired and slept instead :/ After classes I went to the library with Austin and got some homework done, then I went to the store with Tom. After that I hung out at Tom's place and did a little homework and ate dinner, until I went home and was faced with my worst fear: writing an essay. That is the worst part about college! I can't get myself to write essays before the night before they are due! So, needless to say, I was up veryyyy late that night writing a dumb American Heritage essay.
 |
| I went shopping at a real grocery store :) |
Friday Feb 3
After 5 hours of class on Friday, I went to the Creamery with Jeff to get some fries and drink some Apple Beer. We talked for an hour or so. I love that kid! Also, I got a package that week from my lovely momma with a water bottle mouth piece to replace the one I have now. Love ya mom! Then I took a much-needed nap, and headed over to Budge for the ping pong tournament. It was pretty fun! After that I went up in the canyon with some friends to have a bonfire and roast some mallows. Unfortunately, it was way too windy and cold for any fire to start, so after burning an entire container of lighter fluid, we called it quits and went back to the boys' apartment. There we played a board game, ate make-shift s'mores, and watched half of The Sandlot (which, according to Lauren, I was quoting all through my sleep that night, lol). All-in-all, it was another successful night with my friends!

Saturday Feb 4
Lauren and I woke up bright and early and headed over to Regency to enter the raffle to hopefully get an apartment for next year. After a long wait and much suspense, we won a room! (That doesn't actually mean we "won" it, but we got a place. We still have to pay for it and all. In case you were confused.) We went up and took a picture in front of our new room after signing the contracts, and found out that we can see Tom's place from our apartment balcony! It'll be nice to have him right across the street next semester. After that, we visited Tom and his roomies for a little bit, then went to Braza Express to celebrate getting an apartment. It was Lauren's first time there, and I think she loved it! That night I had a great time at Will's dorm. He had surgery on his foot on Friday and is bedridden until Monday, so I went and made some soup for him and his brother Tyler. Then we made a delicious cake and watched Gnomio and Juliet. I loved that movie! I ended up being there until midnight, which was 7 hours. It didn't seem like that long to me, though! Hopefully they weren't counting down the minutes until I left ;) I love hanging out at Will's place. Hopefully I'll be able to go back this week and make sure he's doing okay. It was a wonderful Saturday!

I kind of already summarized my day above, so you can look there. It was so great to be able to see my old friend Tanner and catch up with him. I really hope we can hang out together soon!

My new catchphrase: "I need to take some pictures for the blog!"
